Rain will transition to freezing rain and sleet in the morning, then to snow late morning or early afternoon. Ice accumulation of one to two tenths of an inch will occur along with the possibility for 1-2 inches of snow.

“Friday snow” will be hard to believe Thursday afternoon when it starts raining off and on and we are in the mid 60°s. Rain will be heavy at times, and last into Friday morning. Sometime Friday, rain should transition to sleet and/or freezing rain, and eventually snow.
This morning, we are dry. Cloudy, but dry. A strengthening south wind (gusting to ~20 mph at times) will continue to pump in moisture, keeping us under overcast skies. Temperatures this afternoon make up for the gloomy conditions, rising into the lower 60s. Any leftover decorations left out or a car that needs to be washed? Probably a better day than any to wrap those tasks up.

Wednesday will be a close repeat of today, with (potentially dense) fog early. The main difference? Temperatures reaching the lower 60s during the afternoon…a great treat!

Wet weather will come to an end later this afternoon, just in time for the evening rush hour. Temperatures will be unseasonably cool in the 40s, dropping into the upper 30s overnight.
Our two counties, Davidson County and Williamson County, remain excluded from the Winter Weather Advisory.
We expect a cold rain, but we also don’t want to completely discount winter weather impacts tonight, overnight, or in the morning.
There is no “one size fits all” forecast for Middle Tennessee tonight.
1. For Davidson and Williamson Counties, the NWS-Nashville forecast from 9 PM to midnight includes a chance we will get all rain, a chance it’ll be a sleet and rain mix, or a chance of all sleet; however, the most likely result will be rain. Freezing rain is not mentioned because temps are expected in the upper 30°s. There is no mention of snow.
Cloud cover will be intermittent today, with cold temperatures being the main story. Most places around Davidson/Williamson Counties will struggle to reach the upper 20s!
One last, brisk night is in store with forecasted lows in the teens, followed by a “warm up” Sunday and beyond. There’s just one speed bump in the way…
