Hot and Dry, Bearable Humidity; A Look at the Drought Monitor

By Sheyenne Kirkland on Sunday, September 15, 2019 @ 10:13 am

Sunday

Hot and dry with a little humidity (dewpoints in the low-60s).

The HRRR model throws in a couple tiny pop-up showers, but I wouldn’t count on rain. The high pressure over the region is working to keep us dry. This model often shows a few showers in these conditions but they rarely happen. read more

Hot but Tolerable this Weekend; Summer Continues into the Week

By Hunter Reeves on Saturday, September 14, 2019 @ 10:30 am

Today

The story has not changed much at all. The only ‘major’ change is in the dewpoints, which are in the low 60°s.

Our high today should be in the low 90°s, with a small chance of some pop-ups this afternoon. This is due to a weak frontal boundary moving through. read more

Hot Weather Continues, Not Much Relief This Week

Happy Friday the 13th everyone!

Friday The 13Th GIF by Digg

We’re heating all the way up to 98° this afternoon. You’re definitely going to feel it too when you step outside thanks to the dewpoint near 70.

Hot & Humid, Pop-Up Hit-or-Miss Afternoon Showers & Storms thru the Weekend

By Sheyenne Kirkland on Thursday, September 12, 2019 @ 8:08 am

Thursday

High 96°, as humid as yesterday was, with a few late-afternoon pop-up showers and storms possible.

Below is one model, the HRRR. Pretty sure showers/storms will pop up this afternoon and last until the sun goes down. We don’t know exactly where or when, so be flexible. read more

Hot And Humid Trend Continues Through The Weekend

You’re probably going to feel like this ice cream cone as you step outside this afternoon. Another hot and nasty day ahead of us today, high of 98°. Yes, you read that right, not a typo.

Dewpoints around 70° won’t give us any relief along with the almost triple digit air temperatures, allowing our heat index to climb above 100° this afternoon. read more

Heatwave To Continue Through Friday; Cooler Over The Weekend

By Jon on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 @ 3:13 pm

Tuesday Afternoon

Very hot conditions will persist across the area this afternoon with temperatures staying around 96 degrees. Dew points are in the mid 60’s which is making it feel a tad sticky out there, with heat index readings near 100.  This is not as oppressive as we have seen at times this summer, but it is still quite hot. read more

Hot and Humid This Week, Starting Tomorrow through Friday

By Hunter Reeves on Monday, September 9, 2019 @ 10:00 am

For the second week of September, it is going to be quite hot – so bear with me. Summer will eventually end, just not this week.

EDITOR’S NOTE:

Monday

We will be reaching into the mid 90°s for our high today. Bleh. Thankfully dewpoints are in the low 60°s. read more

Hot Today & Monday. Humidity Returns Tuesday, Heat Index Will Approach/Exceed 100° Rest of the Week

By David on Sunday, September 8, 2019 @ 8:25 am

Today will be like yesterday. A bit hotter, closer to 90°. Clouds may roll in this afternoon, but no rain.

Alert radar watchers may see rain coming down I-24 this afternoon. Expect it to nerf before it gets here, except maybe provide clouds. The HRRR model illustrates this: read more

Next Week, We Take a Collective, Involuntary Steam Bath

By David on Saturday, September 7, 2019 @ 8:35 am

SATURDAY

At 8:25 AM, BNA’s temp was 68°, dewpoint 63°. Last night, a north breeze blew in drier air, so today we get a slight break in humidity, with a high temp around the mid 80°s. No rain, no problems. read more

Nice This Weekend, Hot And Humid Next Week

By Bryce Jones on Friday, September 6, 2019 @ 11:58 am

Friday

Another hot and humid one in store for us today to end off the work week.

We’ll be up to a toasty 90° this afternoon for the high. Dewpoint values continually get higher as the day goes on, reaching up to near 70° by later this evening while everyone is out enjoying some Friday night football. read more
