Remember that low pressure system that’s been hanging over us the last few days? It finally is making its exit towards the northeast – unfortunately for us, the rain will still continue, and instead of cloudy and cool, it’ll be cloudy and very humid.
Today (Thursday)
Look outside, it’s cloudy (then sunny). Already some showers rotated in from the west, around the low we’ve been tweeting about most of the week.
This afternoon after 1 PM, models predict these overcast skies will produce showers and thunderstorms, mostly north of I-40 in Nashville. The storms will be isolated, and the models think the storms will drift north and east, so they may clear our area by late afternoon. However, a few storms may develop right overhead, but the bulk of the rain and storms should move away as we go through the afternoon and night.
Today will be slightly warmer with highs in the low to mid 70s. Models have been consistently showing some showers rotating around a low that is moving through the state. Already we see rain coming in late this morning.
Tuesday
Highs look comfortable in the low 70’s. Scattered showers are the name of the game today. This afternoon, a few may bring along some rumbles of thunder, but none of the storms are expected be severe. Some small sub-severe hail is not out of the question in the stronger storms. Tonight, temperatures will drop to the mid 50’s.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be in the forecast for today. Some of the storms could have gusty winds and heavy downpours, but no severe weather is expected. Up to half of an inch of rain is possible. Highs will be near 75°.
It’s humid out there. Dew points sitting in the low 60s, or what we call “extra deodorant swipe” humidity.
Rain on radar:
A weakening shower band is slowly moving out, while at 11:16 AM, another band of light rain was on its way north from Alabama.
Pop-up showers will develop around mid afternoon, but most of those should be west of us. Possible one could wander overhead, but keep your outside plans. No severe weather expected.
Humid today, with dewpoints in the low 60s. Not quite sweltering territory, but we are getting there.
There is a possibility of some showers and thunderstorms throughout the day today. There will also be a southwest wind blowing at 15 mph with some gusts reaching 25 mph. High temp will be 84°.
Tonight the winds will die down and there will be mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be around 65°.

Highs today will reach the mid 80’s, and skies will be mostly sunny throughout the day. The winds will pick up slightly at 15-20 mph, with some gusts up to 25 mph. As we move into tonight, temperatures will bottom out around 65º.
