Starting late tonight, our weekend weather maker will start moving into our area, starting off with some spotty showers.
These showers will hang around all day Friday, but they are pretty spread out. You might get a lot of rain, but your coworker might not. Some of these individual cells also could be strong enough for some thunder and lightning, but we aren’t expecting anything severe quite yet.
We’re staying dry and getting up into the low 50’s today. The sun stays until Friday. Temps heat back up to the low 70’s by the end of the work week.
A cold front is forecast to come through Saturday morning that has the potential to bring some severe storms our way as it pushes through. The SPC has everyone west of the Cumberland Plateau in a severe weather outlook for Friday. Our counties are in a slight risk (2/5 scale) for severe weather. This translates to a 15% chance of severe weather occurring within a 25 mile radius of us. Main threats are damaging winds along the front as it comes through (60+ mph) and isolated tornadoes.
Temps dropped like a rock overnight thanks to yesterday’s front. The high today will be in the mid 40’s, so yes it is chilly. Lows overnight should stay just above freezing, but a few spots may get down below freezing.
Storms moved out pretty quickly this morning. Any weather warnings and special statements have appropriately been retired. Mostly clear skies and rain-free for the rest of your day.
Don’t look now, but temps are temps are going to drop FAST throughout today into the overnight. Highs are likely what you’re feeling right now–just shy of 50 degrees or so. Fairly breezy for the rest of today, so wind chill comes into play. Lowest chills right around 20 degrees before sun-up tomorrow!! High for tomorrow squarely in the 40s. Bundle up (for now).
We could hit 70 today. Usually not a good thing in December.
HRRR is showing scattered thunderstorms possible today, into tonight, but none of that has a severe concern.
After midnight, rain will intensify.
Nothing major happening this weekend. A warm front sunk south this morning and brought drizzle. We are now on the cold side. Temperatures have cooled down since yesterday.
Starting at 2pm today, the annual Christmas Parade in Franklin will be happening. No major concerns.
The story of the day is near-record highs in the mid 70s. We’ll stay dry and sunny for today. We’re in store for a pretty dramatic cool off tomorrow. Highs dip down into the mid 60s and stay that way for the weekend. The start of meteorological winter seems more like spring.
Our unusually warm start to December continues today. Highs are up in the low 70’s. The record for Nashville for today is 75, and the forecasted high is 73… it’ll be close. The warm temps aren’t going anywhere for a bit, we’ll be in the 70’s again tomorrow and in the 60’s until Sunday. A cold front this weekend will nosedive the temps for next week. Don’t throw away your sweaters… cool temps will return.
Happy first day of Meteorological Winter and December (editor’s note: not real winter. That comes December 21. Carry on.)! It’s not beginning to look or feel like Christmas at all for the rest of the work week. Temps hit the upper 60’s today which is about 10 deg above average. The warming trend continues till Friday eventually heating up to the low 70’s. It’s definitely going to be one of those “heat in the morning and AC in the afternoon” kind of next couple days.
We warm up into the 60’s today, and will climb into the 70’s by Friday. This aren’t record breaking temps for early December, but still pretty warm. Rain chances are low until maybe the weekend.
