Not much in the way of sunshine is expected as we are looking at the potential for cloud cover throughout today. Rain chances will be associated with this cloud cover; isolated showers and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder will be possible, with a greater chance of rain during the overnight hours. High temperatures could reach into the 70s today across most of our area, along with dewpoints hanging out in the 50s to lower 60s.
Temps remaining mild through the rest of the day until tonight when temps drop down in the low to mid 50s. Rain chances including a few isolated showers persist overnight as clouds continue to cover the Middle Tennessee region.
It’s going to be a wet week with spring-like temps. If you’ve ventured out today you know that that’s been our story so far. It will be 66º and breezy today and down to 55º tonight. This story continues the rest of the week.

First week of February so let’s talk rain, humidity, and even thunderstorms.
We get spring-time rain and storms in February. Leaf through weather history books, we’ve had tornado outbreaks in February. February is also our snowiest month, or at least it is when the Dry Air Monster is away drinking on a beach cabana or something.
A few degrees warmer today than yesterday, it’s going to be a downright pleasant afternoon! Our afternoon temps will easily push into the mid 60°’s thanks to a calm south wind. If you’ve been waiting on a day to get out and about, this is it!
Aside from the few isolated showers, we had this morning, today is shaping up to be a great first day of February in middle Tennessee! Our afternoon high temperature is expected to be 53º, which is close to average for the first day of February.
We’re still pretty chilly this morning, but by this afternoon we’ll warm up considerably. Our afternoon high temp will be around 40° here in Nashville – a far cry from the extended sub-freezing temps we’ve been dealing with!
Another Editor’s Note Rant: Unexpected Snow?
Heard alot about “unexpected snow” today. Kinda. “Unexpected” is a fair word.
But, you should not have been unprepared, or shocked, it happened. This morning’s snow was in the range of possibility.

I do not understand weather providers which speak in terms of accuracy, as if trying the hardest, or being the smartest, or looking at this data vs that data can make a forecast more or less “accurate.” We’re all working very hard at this. Everyone is smart. We are all looking at the same data. Everyone wants to get it “right.”
