A surge of warm air is already underway late this morning as southerly flow returns to Middle Tennessee. The latest HRRR models this well, but notice the main “axis” of warmest temps are still off to our south and west.
Grab a jacket before heading out for any evening plans tonight as temps will fall into the 40s overnight.
Thursday and early Friday appear to be your two best days to get any last minute outdoor yard work done. Highs will top off in the upper 60s to low 70s with plenty of sunshine both days.

frost if not protected.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Still have a small chance of some showers through the remainder of today, but for the most part expect for cloudy skies through the evening. Temps will fall overnight into the upper 40s.
You may want to turn the heat on tonight if you haven’t already.
It’s going to rain tonight.
We may see a few light showers beginning around 7-8 PM, but the heavier rain will wait until overnight/early Monday morning.

Expect a breezy/windy Sunday afternoon. Gusts in the 20 MPH range are possible. It’ll be overcast, high 79°, with the return of late summertime humidity.

Last night we thought it would be here around 7 PM, but models overnight have pushed the ETA back. Expect rain to start well after dark, as a slow, light rain gradually increasing through the night.
An increase in moisture will occur today ahead of a long-awaited, potent cold front that is expected to arrive on Sunday. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s are anticipated this afternoon thanks to an unimpeded south wind.
The end of these warm temps is in sight, but these temps want to hold on for just a little bit longer over the next couple of days.

Middle to upper 70s for afternoon temperatures seem to be a good bet heading into the homestretch. A gradual increase in cloud cover will be noted Friday but especially Saturday ahead of the next weather maker.
Sunshine continues now through Saturday. Highs will climb a little bit each day starting in the low 70s today and reaching the low 80s by Saturday. Expect for temps to continue to fall into the mid 40s tonight and tomorrow night, so you will still want a jacket in the AMs following.
