A drizzle or two is possible Tuesday and Wednesday but most of the precip should pass north and northwest of us. Below is the forecast for total rainfall Tuesday through Wednesday night at midnight:
A heavier, steady rain event is expected here Thursday, pushed along by a cold front. It’ll be a cold rain.
Those atop hills may have woken up to a treat in the form of white frozen stuff. Maybe enough to break out your sled. But that’s probably a bit of a stretch.
Big flakes fell while most of us slept. Most of us were too warm, too low in elevation, for it to stick.
Clouds moved in overnight and will continue to hang out through the afternoon.
The HRRR shows rain beginning around 9 pm. The bulk of the rain should be out of the area by 4 am, but there could be a few showers lingering through 6 am. Around a half of an inch of rain is possible.
A quiet day on tap for middle Tennessee to start the weekend. A frontal boundary has moved out of the area leaving temperatures near 50 degrees for our high today and tomorrow.
Dry conditions will continue for most of the day tomorrow before our next round of rain moves in overnight tomorrow into early Sunday morning.
According to the HRRR, scattered showers may begin moving through as early as noon. More substantial rain will develop later this afternoon/tonight. Timing for that looks to be around 4pm. Everything should be gone just before midnight.
Pretty steady temps this afternoon in the mid-40s with mostly sunny skies. Expecting dry conditions to last from now until early Thursday morning.
Clouds will be on the increase late this afternoon into tonight as our next round of rain approaches tomorrow morning.
Dry, cool, and windy today. Mostly sunny with those winds at 15 mph gusting 20.
Same story for Wednesday, sunny and cool, but winds will be calmer.
A front will drive in a about six hours of light, then moderate, then briefly heavy rain sometime Thursday, most likely Thursday night.

Models have been consistent. Snow incoming after midnight tonight. The HRRR model:
Falling snow, and accumulating snow, are two different things.
The current expectation is nothing to a half inch:
Snow falling is more likely than snow accumulating.
Rain stays to a minimum this afternoon for Nashville but we can expect some overcast skies into the overnight hours as well.
We top out in the upper 50s for today. Our chance to see some light snow will be closer to overnight tonight.
