A brief shower possible early tonight (Wednesday).
The real rain event begins around midnight. Here it is from midnight to 5 AM Thursday:
NWS-Nashville thinks more than a half inch of rain. Storms are possible with shear off the charts (again) but zero instability (again) so no tornado or hail concerns.
Plenty of sunshine. Northwest winds are gusty (gusting to 22 mph as of 11:00 am), but it still feels nice outside, high of 70°. Enjoy that!
One side note from NWS, however:
There are some gusty winds behind the front and this could cause a marginal fire danger. Will keep an eye on this.
The sun is back! A light northerly breeze won’t be able to keep temperatures from rising to near 70° today.
We get to continue enjoying near perfect weather! The sun stays around for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs reaching 69° both days. No definite danger of a frost or freeze early in the week, although lows in Nashville could reach 41° early Wednesday morning as a very weak front drops low temps a bit. If there’s any night to watch, that would be it, as outlying areas are always a bit cooler than in town.
Tornadoes (again) are the worry along and south of I-20 today across LA, MS, AL, and GA.
We won’t get tornadoes. We’ll get some rain. Yesterday we thought we’d get 0.5″ or more. Today we think 0.2″ or less. Two reasons.
As we discussed yesterday, it will be cooler today but with plenty of sunshine streaking through this afternoon. High of 62º.
Unsolicited housekeeping advice: Do it tomorrow. Today is a day for playing outside.
We’ve had a beautiful day with plenty of sun so far today, but clouds will begin to push their way into Middle Tennessee, especially into the evening hours as a weak front approaches. Along with this front comes not only some rain, but also gusty winds for us into the afternoon.
We can expect mostly sunny skies Thursday and Friday. Thursday’s highs reach 65°, while Friday’s highs reach 76°.
Secure any hats Friday as winds will blow at 10-15 MPH, with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
We hit 30°F before sunrise. Bit of a scare for those who have already planted their gardens. Temperatures are expected to rebound nicely afternoon. High around 60°F.
A high pressure system is in place to make sure it stays sunny. Lows tonight will dip back into the upper 30s. Some frost may still be possible in many spots, though another hard freeze is not expected.
A few clouds and a stiff north wind will keep our high temperature at 50° for the high. Even if the sun is shining today, don’t be fooled, it’s still chilly. The wind won’t be giving us much of a break either, gusting up to 20 mph throughout the day. A slight chance of one or two light showers are possible, but the HRRR thinks we’ll steer clear of those:
After our noisy, gusty system (gusts to 36 mph at BNA overnight) exits to the NE, we’re left on the cool side. Stiff NW winds will keep us in the 50s for highs today. No rain is expected.
Clouds will hang around for a while, but a clearing line is slowly making its way our direction from the NW.
