A front that’s currently located over the Tennessee Valley region will move north this afternoon, increasing our rain chances.
See how we are sandwiched between the stationary front (red and blue patterned front) and the warm front (red patterned front)? That means we are in the warm and rainy sector of this frontal system.
TGIF! This morning we are starting out with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70’s.
By the mid afternoon hours those temperatures will get into the low 90’s.
There is a slight chance for showers later this evening between 5pm and 8pm. Anything that may pop up will be very isolated and short lived.
A non-Zoo tiger is loose in Knoxville, parts of hurricane hit Louisiana remain without power, and check out the smoke covering large parts of Oregon and California.

Last week we suffered through 70° dewpoints. It’ll get more humid this week, but not expecting 70° dewpoints.
We’ll max out in the upper 80s this afternoon. Little humidity so not running high 90s heat index values!! Our dewpoints this morning hung out in the 60s and will make their way down to the 50 degree mark by the afternoon.
In less than 24 hours, that’s how far the dew points have fallen.
You may have woken up this morning, stepped outside, and realized you weren’t immediately sweating. Dew points are around 53° this morning, making it feel SO nice out!
There are few things I love more than a cold front on the move. And guess what? It’s happening today!
The cold front that’s stretching across much of the eastern US is expected to approach Nashville around early afternoon, bringing cooler temperatures and lower dew points.
This morning, skies are overcast with temps in the low 80s. Very humid.
Later this morning and into the afternoon, a few small showers or even a thunderstorm could pop up due to daytime heating and a boundary stretched across Tennessee.
