And it continues to be really hot.
High temps will start climbing into the mid to upper 90s range today and tomorrow. Along with these high temps will be dew point temps in the low to mid 70s. For this reason, our local NWS has extended our heat advisory through the daytime tomorrow.
If you didn’t know already, this week has been really hot … and it’s only going to get warmer.
Temps will continue to creep further into the mid-90s for the remainder of the week reaching a very warm 95° tomorrow and 96° on Friday. Dew point temps will be in the low 70s range, leading to heat index values in the low 100s.
We’ve officially reached the not-so fun part of summer this week. Highs will stay in the 90s with our dew point temps in the mid-60s to start the week and low-70s to end the week.
Why you might ask? We will have a high pressure located over our area throughout this week, which will keep out those afternoon rain chances. While some of you may celebrate, without these pop-up chances, our temps will be able to continue to climb until the end of the week.
Tomorrow will be another one of those “oppressive” type days with dew points reaching the low 70s.
Prepare your gills.
With this influx of moisture will once again bring those pop-up thunderstorm chances tomorrow. Most morning activities should remain rain-free, but once the afternoon arrives we will become fair game for Mother Nature’s rain lottery.
Happy Friday! While it will still be very hot outside, we are not anticipating any rain throughout the daytime and into the early evening hours.
A weak front looks to pass through the area sometime late tonight (after midnight) into the early morning hours tomorrow while most of us are sleeping. Most models seem to be showing showers moving through rather quickly overnight, and possibly leaving us with dry conditions tomorrow.
A few scattered showers continue to move across the area. If you have early evening plans, bring the umbrella just in case.
Into the remainder of the evening, all eyes are on a few lines of showers currently located in western Tennessee. If these showers hold together, which some models think they will, we could see another round of showers and thunderstorms later tonight.
A typical summertime day is expected with highs in the upper 80s and dew point temps in the low 70s. It’ll be nice and sunny to start, with diurnal heat showers possible later today.
