After a chilly night last night with some record lows, we’re going to have a beautiful afternoon! Sunny skies will be the story today, with a few thin patches of cirrus clouds overhead. Temperatures will climb to 81° this afternoon, along with much lower dewpoints and setting us up with a perfect afternoon!
We’ve got a picture perfect afternoon ahead of us today! Temperatures are going to be several degrees below normal, only reaching 72° for the high. Humidity is going to be a lot lower as well. Light and pleasant winds out of the North will set us up with a quiet, and beautiful Tuesday!

We are currently under a Flash Flood Warning for Davidson County from the NWS for this afternoon until 12:30CDT. Some areas have already seen over 2″ of rain and will see more over the next few hours. If you’re out and about remember NOT to drive through standing water and to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Keep following our twitter for more updates on the Flash Flood.

Our afternoon today is looking fairly warm and dry, despite some showers in west Tennessee marching east. The HRRR model is showing a few of these between 2 PM and 4 PM today:
However, our air is still pretty dry and no one really thinks that rain will get here. NWS-Nashville says chances are slight we’ll get a light shower. Unlikely to rain anything out.

Watching those Ohio tornadoes on radar last night took me back to when I was a small boy, living not that far from Dayton. Mom, dad, baby sister and I lived in Mason OH, not far from Xenia, not long after their F5. Tornadoes were on the mind in SW OH in the late 1970s.
Our Saturday afternoon is going to be a very warm one! We’re going to climb up to 90° this afternoon as the sun beats down on us with partly cloudy skies. Along with the heat comes, you guessed it, humidity. Dew point values are going to be in the low 60s this afternoon when we hit our high. We’re going to see a greater chance for some scattered showers and storms after 4pm this afternoon. The HRRR is showing a few of these storms moving Northeast through our area, but not washing us out by any means:
