Tonight – Rain Slowing Down
This morning’s thunderstorms have escaped east. Rain activity is expected to decrease tonight; only a small chance of an isolated shower remains possible (per HRRR model).

Expect the rain and storms to continue as we head into the evening and overnight hours.

The overall severe threat is not high. In fact, it’s just a “general thunderstorm” risk. However, as we saw earlier this evening, small hail and strong winds are very possible with some storms.

Morning rain is possible, but the better chance for rain is Wednesday night.

Overnight a cold front will stall out over Middle Tennessee and continue our rain chances into Tuesday morning. Below is what the NAM 4 KM Model is showing at 8 PM.

This Evening – The Clouds are Back
After a warm afternoon, clouds are starting to build back in this evening.
While it has been a nice day, there have been some subtle things happening today that will be big players in our upcoming weather pattern.

The cloud cover is being stubborn and will hang around through tonight.
It looks to be a pretty nice evening as the clouds begin to break up, though just like during the day, a bit on the cooler side.

As I sit down to write this, either a Tornado or Severe Thunderstorm Watch extends south from Wisconsin all the way into Texas, stopping just short of connecting Madison and Austin.
