Rain and weak thunderstorms sat to our NW this morning. Before fizzling, it sent an outflow boundary in our direction.
That boundary may be the focus of rain and thunderstorm development this afternoon.

Another hot day in store for us! The NWS has extended the Heat Advisory through Monday until 7:00 PM.
A ridge of high pressure is still settled overhead of us and heat index values will be well above 100° today!

We hit 94° with a dew point of 73°. That’s a heat index of 104°.
The heat will not relent. A Heat Advisory is in effect for the next two afternoons.
The humidity isn’t going anywhere.

The temperature will be in the upper 90°s, and with dewpoints in the 70°s, it will feel like 104° at 3:00 PM today! We could see our heat index rise as high as 107°. Yikes! The Heat Advisory will last through Sunday at 7:00 PM.

By the numbers, hail and strong winds will remain the biggest risks. The tornado risk has gone down from 5% to 2%, so that’s good news. However, we really can’t completely rule out an isolated tornado. Also, we have been removed from the hatched area that put us in the path of possible 2 inch+ hail. BUT – the main concerns with storms today/tonight are hail (1 inch in diameter+) and damaging winds
