Freeze Warning but Dry and Sunny

A freeze warning has been issued for our two counties (and much of Middle TN) beginning overnight through tomorrow morning. Here are the deets .

This weeks weather will be pretty. As mentioned yesterday, we’ll have cold mornings and sunny, warm afternoons. Temps will try to get into the 50s today and tomorrow, then trying for the 60s Wednesday and Thursday. read more

I Broke A Rule Today…Sorta

Those of us who’ve been around Nashville for a while know that planting stuff before tax day is really just a demonstration of your lack of self-control. This describes me perfectly. I’m well aware that those green graph bars up there show two nights of sub-freezing temperatures, but I’m ready to get on with things, for the love. On the bright side, the only things I planted were fairly hearty shrubs. They should be alright. But, really, let’s get on with it. read more

Not Much News Is Good News?

Really not much to cover here. Temps around average, some rain chances. No severe weather. Boring weather is good weather though?

I do not fault you if you look like this reading the blog.

Video gif. Middle aged white man in a baseball cap sits in bleachers with arms folded across his chest. His eyes are closed and his head drops like he's nodding off to sleep.

Anyway, some rain chances come in around lunch, maybe sooner. There’s some pretty dry air sitting above the surface, so it may take a while for the rain to actually make it to the ground. A rain jacket or umbrella, and it’ll not be bothersome. Should clear out for evening plans/SEC tourney goers. read more

Beware of False Spring, Rain + Cooler Temps Returns Wednesday

It’s March, temps have been/are in the 70’s, even pushing 80° today, could it be…an early arrival of Spring??

No.

Veterans will know this happens pretty much every year, around the same time. False Spring. And then a blast of cooler temps likes to come smack you in the face to remind you, that just because it is meteorological spring, does not mean it is astronomical spring. read more

Dry + Warm Start to the Week, Opposite Ending

Today – Tuesday will be great for any and all outdoor activity. You may even break a sweat tomorrow with high temps pushing 80°. No rain.

Wednesday afternoon/evening rain chances increase, and they’ll stick around for the rest of the week. Rainfall totals Wednesday thru Saturday look to be around 1.5″, although that number may (probably will) change as we get closer. read more

‘Twas A Bit Less Windy Today, Rain-Free Til Wednesday

As they say, some of the prettiest weather occurs after a significant storm, and that we had.

Yesterday’s thunderstorms ended up not really being the main story. While there was wind damage associated with the storms themselves, we made it out without any tornadoes locally. Most of the wind damage of the day came after the storms departed and unfortunately, claimed a couple of lives here in Middle Tennessee. That’s news we certainly hated to hear. read more
