The warm temps are gone, and the cold blast is here. Highs in the low 40’s today. Temps will dip into the high 20’s overnight. Mother nature has decided it’s December again.
If you enjoy these cold temps, enjoy them while they last. Temps climb all week. 50’s through Thursday, but then mid 60’s over the weekend. Christmas is supposed to be warm, right?
NWS-Nashville is out surveying storm damage. Yesterday they rated the Dickson tornado EF-2, entire path length not yet determined. Early this morning they rated the Kingston Springs tornado EF-2, 125 MPH maximum wind, 400 yards wide, 10.5 miles long, 1 injury. Surveys will continue today. We will tweet updated information.
We’re writing this at 5 AM, with the leading edge of the storm out of Davidson and Williamson Counties, and along with it, the damaging straight line wind and tornado danger. Heavy rain will continue in S/SE Will Co, but that should remain below flash flood levels. Lightning will continue, too.
Temps dropped like a rock overnight thanks to yesterday’s front. The high today will be in the mid 40’s, so yes it is chilly. Lows overnight should stay just above freezing, but a few spots may get down below freezing.
We could hit 70 today. Usually not a good thing in December.
HRRR is showing scattered thunderstorms possible today, into tonight, but none of that has a severe concern.
After midnight, rain will intensify.
Our unusually warm start to December continues today. Highs are up in the low 70’s. The record for Nashville for today is 75, and the forecasted high is 73… it’ll be close. The warm temps aren’t going anywhere for a bit, we’ll be in the 70’s again tomorrow and in the 60’s until Sunday. A cold front this weekend will nosedive the temps for next week. Don’t throw away your sweaters… cool temps will return.
We warm up into the 60’s today, and will climb into the 70’s by Friday. This aren’t record breaking temps for early December, but still pretty warm. Rain chances are low until maybe the weekend.
We are closing out the holiday weekend with some great weather. Temps have dipped a bit from yesterday, but only to the low to mid 50’s. No rain in sight. If today was the day you were planning on putting away fall decorations and putting up Christmas ones, it’s a great day for it.
Temps look like they will climb to 60 degrees today, so not as chilly as yesterday. The lows tonight won’t get down to freezing temps.
No rain in the forecast today. Looks like it’ll be a really nice fall day.

Following the cold front, temps plummet. Monday’s high will be in the mid 40’s with the low hovering around freezing. Temps will climb heading into midweek, but it’ll still feel chilly.
