Feels Like December Again; Dry Week Ahead

The warm temps are gone, and the cold blast is here. Highs in the low 40’s today. Temps will dip into the high 20’s overnight. Mother nature has decided it’s December again.

Next Rain Event: Thursday

NWS-Nashville is out surveying storm damage. Yesterday they rated the Dickson tornado EF-2, entire path length not yet determined. Early this morning they rated the Kingston Springs tornado EF-2, 125 MPH maximum wind, 400 yards wide, 10.5 miles long, 1 injury. Surveys will continue today. Storms Gone, What’s Next: Colder.

We’re writing this at 5 AM, with the leading edge of the storm out of Davidson and Williamson Counties, and along with it, the damaging straight line wind and tornado danger. Heavy rain will continue in S/SE Will Co, but that should remain below flash flood levels. Lightning will continue, too. read more

Temps dropped like a rock overnight thanks to yesterday’s front. The high today will be in the mid 40’s, so yes it is chilly. Lows overnight should stay just above freezing, but a few spots may get down below freezing. read more

Warm Temps Through the Weekend; Rain this Weekend

Our unusually warm start to December continues today. Highs are up in the low 70’s. The record for Nashville for today is 75, and the forecasted high is 73… it’ll be close. The warm temps aren’t going anywhere for a bit, we’ll be in the 70’s again tomorrow and in the 60’s until Sunday. A cold front this weekend will nosedive the temps for next week. Don’t throw away your sweaters… cool temps will return. read more

Warm Up Continues; Rain Sunday?

We warm up into the 60’s today, and will climb into the 70’s by Friday. This aren’t record breaking temps for early December, but still pretty warm. Rain chances are low until maybe the weekend. read more
