Rounds of non-severe showers and possibly storms continue most of the day. A couple HRRR runs throw some stronger storms into both counties around 4pm. Not totally sold on that right now.
Last night we saw several strong and severe storms move through the area. One could have contained a Tornado. There is a report of damage happening near Highway 396 (Saturn Parkway) in Spring Hill, and we’ll wait to see if NWS sends a crew out to survey it, and if so what damage they see.
Lots of sun and no humidity. A really enjoyable day. Take a look at the temp wind and sky cover grid below.
What you also might notice is that sky cover creeps up overnight into Sunday morning. That sets the tone for the first part of the week ahead.

Happy Friday!! After storms threatened us yesterday, the weather story for this week is a return of the sun. Clouds will move across our area today keeping the sun by and large hidden. The temp this afternoon with get up to around 55º and wind will keep gusting to around 20mph. High pressure will be working its way in from the west and that will make the next 4-5 days nearly cloud free.
It’s going to be a wet week with spring-like temps. If you’ve ventured out today you know that that’s been our story so far. It will be 66º and breezy today and down to 55º tonight. This story continues the rest of the week.
Today things will be warming up and quite mild overnight tonight. Breezy, but really pleasant for mid January, or early November for that matter. Rain will begin late Tuesday night as a precursor to a change coming through the day Wednesday.
Today is a great day to do nothing. There’s plenty of college football on and no real reason to start any of those resolutions. Reality begins for most of us tomorrow.
Wednesday will see our temps dip back to a more seasonally appropriate temp and we’ll see some rain sweet through after 7. It shouldn’t mess with rush hour and will be gone lone before Morning. Here’s a view of what the NAM thinks, and most other models agree. No shenanigans are expected.
Rain will likely hold off all day today, though a stay rain or sleet shower isn’t out of the question tonight. What you will notice today and tonight is the cold. It won’t get much warmer than 40º for most of us and the wind chill will make it feel like freezing or below all night.
