I know most of us are pretty excited to watch 2020 go and move into the New Year of 2021!
The weather, unfortunately, remains gross – rain, rain, and more rain.
HRRR model indicates some light rain/drizzle on and off until early afternoon hours. We’ll see a break in the rain from mid-afternoon until early this evening.
Clouds and sun next couple of days. Unseasonably warm for winter.
Heavy rain will spill out of a robust weather system that’ll pass to our west Wednesday and Thursday. Northwest of the low (the big red L below), snow. We’ll be southeast of the low, so rain.
Some rain and gusty winds are in store for us today into tonight as a cold front moves eastward across Tennessee.
Any outdoor holiday decorations that aren’t secured down could end up in the neighbor’s yard with wind gusts to 35 mph.
The first official day of winter began this morning at 4:02 AM, meaning today marks the least amount of daylight of the year (and the longest amount of darkness of the year.)
Winter temps will wait until Christmas Day.
It’s cloudy.
Sunshine is advancing behind a clearing line crossing the Ohio River around 10:30 AM. It may get here before dark.
Highs today will remain in the mid-40s but with that wind coming out of the northeast, real-feel temperatures will feel more like the 30s.
Another day, another high in the low 70s this afternoon. Above-average temps for much of the state rollover from yesterday into today, but don’t get too comfortable with these highs.
Average highs for this time of year are near the low 50s, so we’re sitting about 20° above average!
Not just any fog… Freezing Fog. Fog that forms when temperatures are at or below freezing.
Most of it has dissipated by the time of this posting.
Pretty quiet morning for most of Middle Tennessee. Lingering clouds moving off to the east will make way for some sunshine for the rest of the day.
Enjoy the weather while it lasts this week. Temperatures today expected to top out around 60°. Partly cloudy skies will prevail this afternoon, so any outdoor plans you have today won’t be affected by the weather.
The cold front that brought us strong wind and rain Sunday morning is down in Florida.
The big blue H is high pressure. It’s in charge, causing sunshine and cold mornings this week.
Lows will flirt with freezing in the mornings this week but then we’ll start warming into the weekend.

If you stepped out early this morning, you could probably feel the immense amount of moisture in the air. Good news: that’s all leaving us today.
