Just like that, we have finally reached spring!
Well that slim chance of rain is beginning to become a definite chance of seeing showers this evening. Showers and some thunderstorms developed this afternoon to our northwest, and these showers have continued to race down I-24.
Those with plans today and tomorrow are in luck; Mother Nature has provided us with some fantastic weekend weather.
Current satellite imagery shows those clouds we saw this morning continuing to move out of our area, leaving us with some sunny skies.
More rain is on the way. Expect it to be off and on through the remainder of the afternoon into the early evening.
The heaviest showers and thunderstorms are expected around 10 PM or later. The HRRR times them out like this:
Skies remain somewhat sunny as clouds have begun to make their way into our area. Current satellite imagery shows these patchy clouds beginning to move into the Middle Tennessee region.
This is good news for our temperatures tonight. While we will drop into the 30s, we should stay above freezing overnight.
Our local National Weather Service Office will be conducting multiple storm surveys today as a result of last nights severe weather. One of the areas that they will be looking into is in Williamson County. Once we learn their findings, we will let you know.
For those of you who have been enjoying these above-average temperatures, well you are sort of in luck. Tomorrow appear to be the last day, at least for the near future, with our highs climbing into the 70s.
Some random showers have continued to move through the Middle Tennessee area this afternoon, but the majority of us should stay dry through the early evening hours tonight. After midnight, expect for showers to move into our area.
Our somewhat chilly day will continue on with cool temperatures tonight and tomorrow morning (temps may even dip into the upper 20s during the early AM hours).
It looks like a tornado started in Williamson County in the Monticello subdivision, then moved through Cool Springs, into Brentwood and north of Nolensville/Cane Ridge, then Antioch and Percy Priest Lake. It’s not yet clear whether NWS will say it was two tornadoes from the same storm, or one long tornado. It’ll be rated at least EF-1. This is all preliminary and subject to revision.
Latest run of the HRRR has showers entering during the early AM hours.
These showers will likely be scattered and continue through the entire day. An isolated thunderstorm or two will be possible as well.
