Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain, Low Chance of Hail Tonight, Fantastic Weekend Ahead

Showers and Thunderstorms Are on the Way

More rain is on the way. Expect it to be off and on through the remainder of the afternoon into the early evening.

The heaviest showers and thunderstorms are expected around 10 PM or later. The HRRR times them out like this:

When that heavier rain gets here, expect some lightning and about an hour or so of heavy rainfall. The lunchtime update from the Storm Prediction Center included us in a 5% probability of large hail (1″ or more) occurring within 25 miles of us when the heavier rain and thunderstorms arrive around/after 10 PM.

Also, keep an eye on the winds as we move into the afternoon and evening; winds speeds are expected to be in the 10-15 mph range with gusts up to 20 mph. This could make your umbrella not as effective as you’d hoped.

Widespread severe weather is not expected.

Dry and Sunny Weekend Ahead

Besides a few leftover clouds Saturday morning, this weekend appears to be dry with sunshine filled skies. Highs will rebound back into the 60s.
