Current radar shows showers with some thunderstorms around our area this morning. The heaviest batch of rain is to our east at the moment. The Storm Prediction Center put a pocket of General Thunderstorms in Middle Tennessee for today. Showers should taper off to the east after lunchtime today. No severe weather today.

Much like yesterday was (including wind gusts over 20 MPH), except tonight we expect rain after dark. We aren’t sure when after dark, though.
The NAM4 model thinks it’ll start around 6 PM, the kind you don’t really want to get caught in:

Looks Windy Again. Sustained winds of 17 MPH by mid-afternoon, gusting into the 20s range in the afternoon.
Rainy Night. We think it’ll start raining sometime after dark. May be wet as the game lets out, but we think the steadier rain will arrive later Sunday night.

To be clear, yes, the All-Star Game is inside — I actually got a ticket! — but with so much happening outside, we need to dig into this forecast.

Temperatures in the 40°s by this evening will drop to the mid 30°s overnight.
A south wind will settle-in overnight, as well, helping to keep our lows “warmer,” and setting the stage for a pleasant weekend.

Evening temperatures will fall to the mid 40°s, but overnight lows will drop all the way to the upper 20°s.
As that weak cold front swings through early tomorrow, there could be some flurries mixed-in with some rain to our east, near the Plateau:

Overnight, we will drop below freezing, but then the winds will turn south and we’ll make it to a sunny 52° on Thursday.
Winds will briefly switch back north as a snowmaker drives by to our north — nothing for us — and drops Friday down to 30° early, 46° in the afternoon.

When the rain ends, a cold northwest wind will blow our wee hour temps down from 46° into the mid-40°s, where they’ll be stuck until dark, when we start to move toward freezing.
