Rain should end around mid-afternoon Saturday.
This doesn’t look to be a complete washout, but we will get a decent soaking. About 1/3″ to 1/2″ possible, with more rain the further north you go.
There had been 5 straight days of rainfall. It would continue for another 6 days, setting the record in Nashville for the most consecutive days of rainfall.
This record was almost broken 23 years later. Beginning on March 7, 1978, Nashville saw 10 consecutive days of rainfall.

The HRRR has showers beginning to come through the area around 9 PM. They should be out of the area before daybreak Thursday, giving way to more sunshine Thursday afternoon.

The GOES-East satellite still shows some snow cover this morning.
The National Weather Service estimates 3 to 4 inches of snow fell between Wednesday and Thursday.
Travel is hazardous this morning. Our replies are filling up with “black ice” and “skating rink” stories. And that was just due to overnight freezing fog and freezing drizzle.

Overnight, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for both counties for the possibility of freezing rain. This will go into effect at 6pm tonight through 6 pm Thursday.
It is different from sleet. Sleet is defined as a partially melted snowflake that will freeze before reaching the surface in the form of an ice pellet.
Not much happening today. Let’s talk about tomorrow and ice potential Thursday.
Showers will be light and off and on around midnight tonight and into the early morning hours Wednesday. Temps will be slightly too warm for any winter precipitation to occur.
Clouds moved in overnight and will continue to hang out through the afternoon.
The HRRR shows rain beginning around 9 pm. The bulk of the rain should be out of the area by 4 am, but there could be a few showers lingering through 6 am. Around a half of an inch of rain is possible.
Off and on rain will continue through Sunday afternoon into tonight. Light and nondisruptive, not a washout.
The HRRR model thinks the heavier stuff will arrive around 4 am. Either way, this is an early shift / while we sleep heavy rain event, almost 1″ expected. Isolated storms possible but nothing severe or concerning. Sleep peacefully tonight.
Rain overnight tonight should stay to our north and south. But we can’t rule out a couple sprinkles falling in your backyard. HRRR model shows snow north, rain south, we’re in the middle.
Another system is coming but models disagree exactly when.
