Temps, Humidity Creeping Up

A gradual, slow creep, y’all. It won’t be too hot, and the humidity won’t be oppressive. A nice day for the pool tomorrow.

It’s still summer. Do Labor Day right.

Expect high temps in the low-to-mid 90s this week.

A Little More Humidity

About a week ago the dewpoint was in the low 70°s, which is very humid, as in borderline oppressive humidity.

Then we had that cool front arrive Thursday. North winds at the surface scoured away the gross and dropped our dewpoints into the glorious mid 50°s. read more

Tonight: Clear Skies – 9 PM 75°

Still have a few clouds around the area. These will linger into the evening hours, but eventually these clouds will begin to clear out leaving us with mostly clear skies overnight. Current satellite imagery shows these scattered clouds beginning to clear over Middle TN. read more

Tonight: Mostly Clear, Cool! – Temperatures Fall Into the 60s

Rain-free, cloud free, and that will allow us to bottom out in the lower 60s for morning lows. I would not be surprised if some spots dip down into the upper 50s overnight! Tonight’s weather will be great for spending outdoors and sure will give you a taste of fall…you might even want a jacket. read more

Update: One small shower developed over Brentwood this afternoon. Other than that, we don’t expect much in the way of rainfall this evening. Temperatures will fall through the low 80s later this evening, with humidity holding strong (dew points in the 70s). Tonight will be great for an evening at the Sounds Ballpark. read more

Watching a Few Storms Today and Tonight

We will may see a few weak microbursts. Microbursts happen when winds come screaming down from a storm, slam into the ground, then spread out in all directions. Here is an example. read more

Here we have the Biebs representing HEAT, sticking out in the crowd, and being obnoxious about it with the gold watch, two gold chains, red hot hat brim, indoor sunglasses, and that unnecessarily cool way he grips the water bottle. I like that he’s hydrating (although, why two tiny sips, Biebs?), but I can’t think that leather (?) garbage-bag-styled shirt is the loose, lightweight clothing that makes more sense during a heat wave. And worst part about it, is the gif never moves on. It’s stuck in an interminable loop. read more
