wattery today, Wattery Saturday/Sunday, then back to wattery

By Elan on Friday, July 7, 2023 @ 9:56 am

wattery was purposely not capitalized today, as the chances won’t be as pronounced.

HRRR model (above) shows coverage fairly scattered. Probably not too many winners today, but those that do win could see some heavy rain, gusty winds and lightning. read more

The Wattery: Many Will Enter, Few Will Win

By Elan on Thursday, July 6, 2023 @ 10:53 am

The Wattery is a funny game. Everyone plays, but not everyone will win. Also unlike the lottery, which if you win, you are happy. If you “win” the Wattery, some people may not be so happy. read more

Wish I had a better forecast to share for the 4th, but unfortunately that’s not the case.

Before Wattery chances pick up, it’ll be hot. Not last week hot, but still hot. Heat index values will near 100°. read more

Breaking The Pattern: Dry Today, Questionable 4th

By Elan on Monday, July 3, 2023 @ 12:10 pm

We finally are not outlooked for severe weather today. We should stay dry. Much needed and well deserved. Heat index only in the mid 90’s, also improvement.

Anddd that won’t last long, as the Wattery returns for the 4th. read more

By Elan on Sunday, July 2, 2023 @ 11:10 am

There’s a chance of severe weather today, which means getting information will be vital. If you reach your “rate limit exceeded”, here are some alternative ways to receive new information. This is based off my personal experience and some ways may not work for everybody. read more

More *Heat* With Maybe A (Severe?) Storm To Cool Us Off

By Elan on Saturday, July 1, 2023 @ 10:17 am

High temps again in the upper 90’s today, with heat index values pushing 🥵109°🥵 = Heat Advisory from 11am – 7pm.

If you have to be outside, take it easy with frequent hydration breaks. Or pool. read more

Haze, Excessive Heat, Strong (Maybe Severe?) Storms…gross.

By Elan on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 @ 12:43 pm

You may see “haze” in the forecast. It’s from the Canadian wildfires.

Likely more noticeable in Davidson than WillCo. No Air Quality Alerts in effect, but people with respiratory issues still may need to take it a little easier outdoors. read more
