For those wanting to see the supermoon tonight, there is some hope that you still may be able to. Winds through the day will try to push all of the haze out of our area. The bad news is that clouds are expected to build in. Depending how quickly the clouds move in, there may be a little period of time to get a good glimpse of the moon.

Special Weather Statement issued this afternoon by NWS-Nashville:
Smoke associated with ongoing fires across eastern Kentucky…eastern Tennessee…northern Georgia…and western north Carolina has settled in across middle Tennessee today…resulting in hazy skies and a smoky smell to the air. The smoke will likely continue to impact the mid-state overnight…but conditions are expected to improve considerably by Monday morning as winds shift more to the southwest. The smoke could pose some problems for the elderly…young children…active adults…and those with respiratory issues. To minimize health problems…limit your exposure to the smoke or wear a mask if you have to be outside for an extended period of time.

* TEMPERATURE...MANY AREAS WILL SEE OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES DROP TO THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S. * IMPACTS...SENSITIVE OUTDOOR VEGETATION MAY BE KILLED BY THE FREEZING TEMPERATURES AND AREAS OF FROST. * GEOGRAPHIC AREA...THE WARNING INCLUDES AREAS OF THE MID STATE GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM FLATWOODS...IN PERRY COUNTY..TO TRACY CITY...IN GRUNDY COUNTY. * TIMING...THE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT UNTIL SUNDAY MORNING AT 8 AM CST.

It is going to be a chilly morning. Frost advisory expired for us at 8 AM, but you still may notice some frost on your car as you head out the door this morning. In addition to this frost, there is the possibility of seeing some dense fog during your AM commute. If you come across it, be sure to use caution.

We have been placed under a Frost Advisory for tomorrow morning. So if you have anything still living that you want to stay that way, you may need to bring it inside or cover it before tonight.

Update: An approaching cold front will sweep through the mid-state overnight with enough moisture to *possibly* wring out a little more rain (no more than an additional 0.10″). The only issue is that there is dry air and it has tended to keep much of the rain from reaching the ground today.

Fair weather evening in store for us. Clouds will continue to hang around through the evening, so no star gazing tonight.
Temps will cool slightly through the evening dropping into the upper 50s by 9 PM. You may want a light jacket if you have any outdoor plans. If you’re planning to stay inside and watch Monday Night Football or something, that’s cool too.
