A warm front has moved through Middle Tennessee late this morning, which is giving us a chance for hit/miss showers until tonight’s Grinch Storm (disturbance moving out of the Southern Plains) makes it to Nashville late this afternoon / early evening… Just in time for the Nashville Christmas Parade.

A weak cold front has moved through Middle Tennessee and will continue to sag to the southeast throughout the day. This will usher in cooler and drier air. The NAM shows the cooler air into Nashville by 3 PM.

Fog is likely in the early morning hours.
After the fog mixes out, expect mostly cloudy skies, and maybe a passing light shower or two. No washout or other ruinous rainfall is expected. NWS only has 0.02″ of rain forecast.

Over the next few days, a weak front will oscillate back and forth over Middle Tennessee, bringing us chances for light rain with temps above seasonal norms.

We got pretty cold pretty fast today. At 8 AM it was 62°. The cold front arrived, and as I write this, it’s 42°. Expect wind chills to dip into the upper 30°s tonight as off/on light rain continues.

As you can see in the above meteogram, rain is in the forecast for the next few days, but it’ll be more “off” than “on” rain, and it’ll be light.

Sunday afternoon, the cold front was positioned to our NW:
First, notice the freezing rain area in SE Missouri. Regular readers here are will recall previous discussions of freezing rain potential as the cold front approaches Middle Tennessee. However, freezing rain does not appear to be a concern. It is completely missing from the afternoon forecast discussion, and there is no support in the models for any wintry precip shenanigans Monday night.
