There’s a weak trough at the surface sliding eastward this afternoon. It will approach our area later this evening, bringing a spark for a few showers/storms to develop. Not everyone gets wet, but we can all expect temperatures in the mid 80s.
Current Radar
Showers have begun to develop to our West through the day. None, so far, have reached our area. Thank you cap.
There are a few interesting points about the weather for today as we enter the remainder of the afternoon:

Update: A few showers and storms have developed *west* of our area today. These are expected to die off before making it here, but don’t be surprised by a leftover shower.
Later tonight looks good from the weather department — temperatures will fall through the 80s under mostly clear skies. Any pesky afternoon shower should have moved on or dissipated by sunset.
Current Radar
Our atmosphere has remained capped off this afternoon, not letting any afternoon pop-up showers occur so far. Chance of showers developing is still there, but looks very unlikely given our current atmosphere.
Current Radar
Beautiful skies and hot conditions have prevailed so far today. Our atmosphere has remained capped off, not allowing any pesky showers and thunderstorms to develop so far. Still a chance for a few to pop-up, but after sunset that chance will diminish greatly.
Current Radar
Showers and storms are moving across the state this afternoon. The heavier activity is staying north, however a few storms could produce heavier rainfall and frequent lightning.
This rain will continue moving southeast and dissipate later this evening. A cool, quiet night is in store for us.
Current Radar

Fair weather will continue as we head into the evening hours. Expecting temps to drop into the low 70s overnight.
That wonderful high pressure is sitting to our South providing us with very nice conditions throughout the evening.

Writer’s Note: Today is dedicated to all the dads out there, including mine, who work hard each and every day to make good lives for their families. David typically writes Sundays, but the Interns thought he deserved a day off.

Update: There’s a very small chance of a shower this afternoon. Otherwise, things remain quiet.

Tonight looks pleasant, as temps fall back into the 70s by mid-evening. Once again, another night to spend outdoors is in the works!
