As of 1:55 pm, Nashville reached 85 degrees. This breaks the all time record high for the month of February. It also is the earliest in the year Nashville has reached 85 degrees. Previously, the earliest 85 degree reading was March 12, 1967. So… big day for the record keepers.

Who’s Ready for 82°?
Quiet Couple of Days. Maybe Some Showers This Weekend
The wind advisory has now expired, the (very meh) severe threat has passed, and the sun is back. Looks like a nice afternoon. Winds peaked at 46 mph at BNA early this morning.
Our next weather system is a low pressure system we think will dive down toward the Gulf Coast and ride up the Atlantic coastal states this weekend into Monday.
Nice Day Today, Rain Returns Tonight
The year was 1985. New cars would set you back about $9000 on average. If you think that number is low, check out the low temp. On January 19th, Nashville recorded 5.3 inches of snowfall, and by the 21st, with 5 inches still on the ground, Nashville’s temperature plunged to -17°, the coldest temperature since records started in 1873…a record that still stands today. Franklin got even colder, dropping to -21°.
Rainy Sunday Ahead
Wind Advisory Today, Cooler Tomorrow
It’ll be windy today, but the “storms” from last night are long gone. Should be a nice day.
Temps will hover right around 50° for highs through early next week.
Next Rain Chances
Sunday looks like a wet day, but we’re not expecting any severe weather. We’ll nail down timing as we get a little closer.
Rain Continues Off/On Through Tomorrow Morning
Scattered Rain This Weekend
We have two opportunities for rain in this forecast. One begins early tomorrow morning and ends sometime Sunday. The other comes late next week, say Thursday.
The Weekend
Early tomorrow morning, showers should be approaching us. Initially, the rain will be light and scattered. The rain will likely fill in at various times and drop periods of moderate rain. It’s hard at this juncture to pin down exactly when the more solid rounds of rain will come through. If you have outdoor plans, just keep an eye on radar. https://nashvillesevereweather.com/radar/
Couple of Rounds of Rain, None Heavy
It’s a bit of a relief to not have much to write about. No severe weather with this forecast and no flood threat. Just….the usual.
Two Rounds of Rain
A window for rain chances opens Friday night and closes Sunday morning. Rain chances are fairly low each day, and total rainfall amounts through Sunday night are expected to be wellll below half an inch, maybe not even a quarter inch, according to the blend of models. This could change. But, this is what we’re aiming for as of today.
