Wall clouds descend from rotating storms. Tornadoes often come out of them. Some wall clouds don’t rotate. Those that do are God’s way of warning you a tornado may be imminent. Here’s a chronological collection of several (but not all) of the photos you all sent in of today’s rotating wall cloud, which set off this afternoon’s tornado warning in Williamson County. We do not have any reports this produced a tornado.
Tonight
Expect sunshine and scattered thunderstorms, which we will be watching for you on Twitter @NashSevereWx. One or two storm lines is expected tonight and during the overnight hours. Some storms could be strong.
Today – Rain Ending
Drunken scattered showers continue pushing into both counties, moving east (watch out for lightning!). NWS thinks we will eventually clear out and have a very nice evening.
Saturday – High 82
Tonight
Tonight there is a 40% chance for scattered showers that could develop in the overnight. Should not be too much of a problem if you’re heading to the CMA Music Festival. No washout, just a little nuisance rain if anything does develop.
Tonight
The airport reported only 0.07″ of rain today. Areas west of us picked up doppler estimated 0.30″ of rain. No more storms are expected today
More thunderstorms are expected after midnight.
Today
Has been awesome, partly cloudy skies, warm, low humidity, and just a slight breeze. Tonight will be just as nice with temps in the low 70s under partly cloudy skies.
Wednesday – High 87 – Rain Chances Return
Today – High 78
What a difference a day can make! Mostly clear skies sunny, warm with low humidity. Enjoy it while it lasts because it’s June, and weather like this comes once in a blue moon.
Today – High 88
Still “same old same old.” Hot, humid, sunny, and a little windy. But, things will begin to slowly change after today.
Thursday – High 88
The high pressure system driving these very warm days and dry weather will start to weaken ever so slightly Thursday. NWS has a 20% chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon hours into the evening. Many of you won’t see any rain, just very hit and miss in nature.
Wednesday – High 88
Just like yesterday. It might be a good idea to water your lawn one day this week. At least the overnight temps are cooling off nicely into the upper 60s.
Thursday – High 88
