Today, we’re going to start off with a pretty nice, warm day. This is going to quickly change. A cold front is going to quickly drop temps. See the roller coaster that is the hourly temperature chart:

Rain Tonight, Cold Snap This Weekend
After yesterday’s cold front moved through, we’ll see a chilly day today and lots of clouds. Later tonight, we will have some rain move in, possibly around dinner time.

The rain will hang around all night, but will clear out before your morning commute on Wednesday. There are no severe concerns with this system.
Warm, Spring-y Trend Continues
Not much to discuss this week, *cue the applause*. Temps will continue to rise throughout the week and we will hit the 70s tomorrow! Spring has made its arrival!

We’re looking ahead to Saturday for our next weather maker. As of now, the GFS shows a little bit of rain moving in Saturday evening and overnight.
Chilly Friday
Now that the cold front has pushed through – we are left with some chilly air.

Highs today will be in the low 40s, and overnight temps will be in the 20s.
The good news is, we’re only going to warm up from here, and we’ll be feeling some spring temperatures early next week. Any residual moisture on bridges and overpasses will freeze tonight. However, most roads will be totally dry by then.
Chilly but Dry Weekend
Damaging Winds and Tornado Threat
Here’s the main takeaway for today: wind is guaranteed, tornados are not. You’ll want to secure any loose objects on your porch, and avoid parking your car under unstable trees or tree branches. If you have a weather radio, today is a great day to use it. Our damaging wind probability is 30%. Our tornado risk percentage down from 10% to a 5%.
Warm Today, Light Rain Overnight
Comfy High Temps, Cold Lows
Flood Watch Until Tonight, Freezing Rain Also Possible
With the approaching heavy rain that we will see today, we are currently under a Flood Watch until tonight.

The area above highlighted in green could see 1-3 inches of rain today. The area in the yellow circle could possibly see more. This is enough rain to overflow your creeks and rivers, as well as low lying areas. Stay weather aware as well as aware of your surroundings, especially if you’ll be out driving today.
Light Snow Possible
Today we will be seeing some snow, but we aren’t expecting anything major. Some areas may see a light dusting of snow, but you won’t need to do any shoveling.

The HRRR shows very spread out precipitation, so it’s possible that your family doesn’t see any snow or rain, but your coworker across town does. The biggest threat with this system is the frigid temperatures we will see tonight. With wind chill included, we will have temps in the teens. Nearby areas might get even colder and see some single digit temperatures. Make sure the three P’s are taken care of – plants, pets, and pipes.
