Davidson County is included in a Flash Flood Watch until Saturday at 7 PM.
2″ to 4″ additional inches of rain are possible; however, the short-range models have arrived and are suggesting it may not be quite this bad.

The severe weather outlook today has us included in an enhanced risk.
The moisture and above average temperatures will increase storm development this afternoon and evening. Storms will fire up ahead of a cold front that will be drifting though Kentucky into Tennessee.

The rain we saw this afternoon stayed S of 40, and is moving out as I am writing this.
The upper level high continues to hover over us, letting temperatures rise a few degrees.
Another hot day indeed with mostly sunny skies and a dew point at 73°.

Can’t rule out some brief pop up showers around lunchtime. HRRR model shows a few showers around noon, but don’t worry! This looks pretty unlikely. HRRR model doesn’t always handle this well.

Today – Showers and Thunderstorms Possible Later this Afternoon . H: 84°

This weather pattern contains no obvious focal point to initiate showers and storms, hence the uncertainty. Tonight – Showers? Probably Not
Early today, models were flirting with sending us some rain and a few thunderstorms. They’ve since backed off that pro-rain idea. We’re seeing showers and thunderstorms slowly begin to appear to our south, and drift very slowly north toward us. However, if you look at the water vapor imagery, we look relatively dry. I’m not real confident we’ll see anything tonight. Our NWS thinks our rain chances tonight are pretty small.
