Overnight NWS Nashville issued a Flood Watch for both of our counties. Reason being is we are expected to get more rain on top of already saturated grounds. This may lead to rivers swelling up and as well as flash flooding in vulnerable spots. If you live near a river, keep an eye on it, you can always check the level of rivers here.
Your morning walk or visit to the farmers market will be dry this morning, although it’s muggy with dewpoints in the low 70’s.
I’ll go ahead and start with the good news, and it’s just about the only good news in this – temperatures will be slightly below average for the next week or so. Got to focus on the positives, right?
High today of 91°, dewpoints will increase throughout the day from the low 60’s to the upper 60’s, which will make it feel gross.
The HRRR model is continuing the show the possibility, not promise, of rain tonight, which could possibly impact your football game.
Pleasant day today, with high temps in the upper 80’s with dewpoints in the upper 50’s. Which is reallll nice, until they go back up into the upper 60’s tomorrow thru beginning of next week, which is not so nice.
Typical Awwgust temperatures and humidity today with high’s in the low 90’s and dewpoints in the low 70’s. This will let the heat index get up into the upper 90’s. (Relief is coming as September rolls around).
The million dollar question – “will it rain again today?” We’ve already used all our lifelines, so we are in a tough position. Good thing we have help from models.
HRRR model (above) is leaning towards very few showers/lightningstorms. It wants to think the line coming in from Kentucky falls apart before it can affect the soccer game.
Ongoing showers/lightningstorms will continue through the afternoon/evening, clearing out (hopefully, no pinky promises) for nighttime activities – including good ole’ Titans preseason. Things could very well change, we’ll be posting all the updates on Twitter. Below is what the HRRR model thinks will happen. A good amount of these storms will contain lightning, which is sorta (very) dangerous – when thunder roars, go indoors.
So many questions, so many variables, so many different outcomes, few answers. This blog may not contain the answer(s) you are looking for, but it’s the honest answer. The Wattery is random. If a genie gave me three wishes, my first wish would be to have the knowledge of when/where the Wattery would strike. But since I don’t personally know any genies, here I am giving you vague, yet honest answers.
Rain just to our west this morning. HRRR model (below) thinks it slides a little this way during the afternoon and some of us may get some rain and lightning before it pushes north. For tonight, the HRRR thinks more Wattery style showers/storms pop-up sometime this evening.
Another hot + humid day with the heat index maxing out near 100°.
HRRR model (below) think the showers/storms in Arkansas and West TN slowlyyy make their way here, if they make it at all. ETA would be sometime in the evening. HRRR model doesn’t think there are any Wattery chances but cannot rule one or two out. No widespread severe weather is expected but a storm or two could have some strong straight-line winds and some heavy rain.
