South winds will really start to pick up after noon, transporting warmer and wetter air. That’ll set us up for next week.

So we had a shower drop by this afternoon, and we expect more tonight.
The HRRR expects a lot more rain as the front approaches:
Our NWS does too, another 0.37″. Rain is more likely the closer you are to Chattanooga, where they should get soaked. The rain may not really get going until it’s SE of us, but don’t bet on that. Plan on rain tonight.

It was pretty wild last night — top “official” wind gust was 52 MPH.
Still pretty warm for December.
A rain system will come streaking out of the Gulf, putting showers on our radar as the day wears on.

We did it!
At 1:35 PM, we hit 76°. Hottest December 13 since 1927, when it was 75°.
Winds steadily increased through the afternoon. BNA even had a 45 MPH gust.
A Wind Advisory is in effect Sunday at 6 PM to Monday at 6 AM. Look for gusts up to 40 MPH.

High profile vehicles (big trucks) may be blown around. South winds create particular concern for those on I-40, SR 840, and other east-west roads.

No. We tied it.
No real change tonight. Temps ease into the mid-60°s, no rain.
Temps: If we make it to 75°, we’ll tie the record high for December 13, set in 1927.

Not seeing any rain on the radar tonight, although we can’t rule it out. Radar looks pretty clear to our SW.
The cloudy, muggy December pattern remains. No rain expected, but a little drizzler can’t be ruled out.
