Last night, we were talking about storms in Missouri which were forming along a cold front. That cold front is still working its way towards us, and the question was whether those storms being pushed in our direction by the cold front would dissipate by the time they arrived here late this morning.

A (shortwave) disturbance is quickly advancing towards Middle Tennessee from the Great Plains. The National Weather Service has its ETA at or just after 1 PM. The HRRR is also putting the showers and thunderstorms in Nashville around noon.

A shortwave will increase our chance for showers and thunderstorms late tonight and early Tuesday. Scattered/numerous afternoon thunderstorms are expected across Middle Tennessee, which will be more likely N of I-40 than S of I-40.
