Some Dry Time Tonight, Sun Returns Next Week!

Current Radar

Cloudy, Cooler Night Ahead

Rain is moving through the area now, as projected, and will exit by later this evening. Clouds will continue to hang with us into Sunday, as simulated below:

Additionally, some cooler air will creep into middle Tennessee later today/tonight as high pressure begins to build in. Winds will become northerly, assisting in the transport of colder temperatures.

Sunday is just cloudy. Temperatures in the low to mid 50s with a light northeasterly breeze — nothing too dramatic or out of the ordinary.

Pattern Change Starts on MLK Day

With a lot of people off of work and school on Monday, it’s got many wondering if they’ll be able to get outdoors and enjoy some of Nashville’s warm-winter bliss.

The answer is yes!

While the day will start off cloudy, increasing southerly winds will pump in temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70º. A second cold front will push nearer from the west, but most shower/thunderstorm activity should hold off until after dark on Monday.

Rain and a couple rumbles of thunder will stick with us through a good part of Tuesday, before clearing out Tuesday night.

Luckily, for warm weather lovers, this “cold front” won’t live up to its name…what a shame.

Temperatures will rebound quickly on Wednesday behind the boundary into the 60s, which is no weather friendly of a snowman. Also, we will finally welcome back some sunshine!

Looking Way Ahead

Healthy rain chances to end the work week will be the trend, but a dry and warm weekend will make nice for any plans outside. Models are in quite some disagreement in the long term (not unusual) but we’ll keep an eye on anything that looks like it could impact your weekend activities.
