Our Flood Watch goes into effect at 1p today and continues through 6p Sunday.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain will be possible from today through Sunday, bringing upwards of 3-4″+ of additional rain.
With our already saturated grounds, the potential for flash flooding and rises on streams/creeks will certainly exist.
The majority of models insist that the rest of our Thursday during the day will be dry.
We’ll be watching for a cluster(s) of storms moving our way from the NW. It’s unclear if they make it here, and if they do, how strong they’ll be. It’s worth noting that we are outlooked with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles.
The latest HRRR model thinks we may see multiple waves of storms from overnight tonight thru midday Friday. It’s also worth noting, the HRRR has been preforming quite poorly lately. No model really excels with these summertime set ups.

It’s likely we won’t truly have a good grip on things until we are in the “nowcasting” phase. Stay connected for updates to the forecast, especially if you live in a flood-prone area. Timing is very much subject to change.
Models suggests additional waves of storms will again be possible Friday evening and night. Heavy rain and damaging straight-line winds will be the main threats. No tornado concerns with any of this.

Saturday and Sunday will be a repeat. More waves of storms possible throughout the day. We’ll be watching for any slow-moving or training storms enhancing the flood threat. Isolated damaging straight-line winds will also be possible in any stronger storm.
Long-story short, be flexible with any outdoor plans you may have. If you live in a flood-prone area, pay extra close attention to the forecast. If you come across a flooded roadway – turn around, don’t drown. You don’t know how much water is really there, and it doesn’t take much to cause some serious issues.

Rain chances come down by Monday, and we continue our stretch of high temps near 90°.
