Before we get into the Flood Watch, we have continued Wattery chances today. At the time of writing (11a), showers and storms were already going, mostly confined to Davidson County.
These will continue through the afternoon and early evening. Typical hazards of heavy rain with localized flash flooding possible, lightning and gusty winds,

As always, we’ll be watching and keep y’all posted.
Now onto our newly issued Flood Watch that goes from 1p Thursday thru 6p Sunday.
Multiple rounds of showers and storms will be possible daily. With grounds already saturated and upwards of 3-4″ of additional rain possible, flash flooding will be a possibility.

Thursday will follow the same pattern we’ve been seeing the past couple days. Scattered showers and storms in the afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has included us in a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds within 25 miles.
Models think Friday will be a bit different of a set up. The HRRR suggest we start the morning off with a cluster of storms.

For now, the HRRR only goes out until 7a Friday, but long-range models suggest additional showers and storms will be possible later in the day Friday as well. Similar to Thursday, we also have a 5% chance of severe weather within 25 miles, mainly for damaging straight-line winds. No tornado concerns.
Saturday and Sunday continue the theme of Wattery chances in the afternoon and evening. We’ll be watching for any slow-moving or training storms, especially over areas that had seen heavy rain in previous days.
“Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.” says NWS Nashville
Never drive through flooded roadways or approach flooded streams and creeks – there’s no telling what is in that water.
Forecast may change within the coming days. Be sure to stay connected for the latest updates.
