Low-End Severe Threat on Monday, Then Much Drier

Today is our last day of random showers/storms for the foreseeable future. Monday will still have rain/storm chances, but in a different set up.

Radar won’t look exactly like this, but the HRRR model helps gives us a general idea. Rain/storm chances mostly confined from the afternoon into the early evening. No severe weather expected, but when thunder roars – go indoors.

We are still watching our low-end threat of severe weather on Monday.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlooked with a 5% chance of damaging straight-line winds and severe hail, within 25 miles. We are not included in any tornado probabilities.

“Latest models suggest an MCS [Mesoscale Convective System, AKA an organized line of storms] like feature developing to the NW and surging SE through the region. There is some uncertainty with this features initiation time and progression SE so will need to monitor additional model runs for better timing of storms.” – NWS Nashville

Emphasis on uncertainty. Latest models all don’t have the best handle on things, so thoughts on timing/impacts will probably change throughout today, stay connected for updates.

For what it’s worth, the latest HRRR model has the line of storms (I-24 Special) moving in sometime mid-morning on Monday. Again, this is just the 12z run and things can very well change.

We’ll keep y’all posted on all of our socials throughout the day today and tomorrow.

The good news is that once we get thru Monday, Tuesday thru at least Friday all look dry – a well deserved break from our seemingly endless daily rain chances.

“Take advantage of this time to catch up on all those outdoor chores we`ve been unable to get done these past couple of weeks.” says NWS Nashville.

Moisture will eventually start to filter back into the area by late next week, with rain chances returning in at least some fashion by Friday night/Saturday. Too early to get into the specifics for CMA Fest, but nothing is screaming washout. More on that in the coming days.
