Cold but Dry Weekend

It is definitely going to feel like winter out there today. Grab your hats, scarves, fuzzy socks, and gloves cause it is capital C Cold today. Temps will be in the 20s and 30s. This combines with the wind coming from the north, giving us some wind chill values in the teens. Here’s what that looks like on the HRRR. Blue is very cold, purple is very very cold.

If it makes you feel any better, on this day in 1985, Nashville experienced the record low temperature of -17 degrees. So when you go outside today, be thankful that it isn’t 1985. Another thing to be thankful for: there is no precipitation this weekend! Temps will rise back into the bearable (?) 30s and 40s on Saturday and Sunday.

Next precip chance could be Monday night with the passing of another cold front, but there is still some uncertainty between the models. Stay tuned for updates.
