Mostly Cloudy To End the Work Week, Could Get Some Showers Tomorrow

Current Radar

Tonight: Clouds Hang Around – Temps Fall Into the Upper 50s Overnight

Friday: Mostly Cloudy, Chance of Rain Throughout the Day – Wake Up 57° High 77°

Tomorrow is the day that Middle TN might, just might, finally see some rain. Mostly cloudy skies expected for the majority of the day with highs building back into the mid 70s.

Update: Models seem to be in more of a “consensus” with when we could see rain tomorrow. The general trend right now is for showers to arrive in the afternoon hour and possibly continue into the evening. Showers will likely be scattered and non-severe.

HRRR is has finally come into range through the lunch hour tomorrow. Trend seems to be showers on approach in the afternoon. Showers begin to appear at the end of the model run (which is where the least confidence is), but most models seem to be showing this same outcome for tomorrow.

NAM4 now likes the idea of showers approaching after lunch through the rush hour.

The Euro shows the bulk of the showers likely more in the Friday evening hours.

The GFS seems to be following the same general trend of showers in the afternoon to evening period.

All in all, it looks like some of us may finally get some rain tomorrow. While we may get some, it probably isn’t going to be a lot. The latest Quantitative Precipitation Forecast has our area in the 1/4 inch or less category.

The answer for the “will it rain tomorrow night” is still unknown, but latest model runs have been trending towards a “wet” after and evening on Friday. Truthfully, I would have that rain plan ready to go just in case.
