Current Radar
Our Severe Thunderstorm Watch will expire at 8 PM, but rain and storms are scattered to our southwest, moving this way, and may impact fireworks shows.
Our Go/No thoughts on tonight:
A few rainers and storms are off to our SW. Can't say whether fireworks will be stormed/rained on or not. Unlikely *all* shows will rainout.

All this rain is moving in our general direction and will be arriving as it gets dark. Place your bets. pic.twitter.com/paNDx500ns

If you love fireworks, crowds, America, and can quickly retreat to an enclosed structure, go see the fireworks.

If you're risk averse, or you've got fussy kids, or if your "spot" will be 2 miles from your car/enclosed structure, then don't go.

Bottom line: I think it's reasonable to try and go as long as you can retreat to an enclosed structure if lightning approaches.

If you go, the cloud bases will be higher this year, and the shows should not devolve into a smoky/misty mess like they did last year:
NWS says LCL heights (the lowest part of the clouds) are at 2000 feet, about 4 times higher than last year. Makes for better viewing.
