Wet Easter Weekend

Saturday

Our NWS forecasts no rain tomorrow morning, a chance of rain between 1pm and 7pm, and after that, yes, it’s going to rain until around 4am Sunday morning, perhaps even longer than that.

A quick look at two models illustrates the rain’s arrival.

The American GFS model at 4pm Saturday shows the arriving rain:

The European model agrees. Here we are at 7pm.

EuroSatu

Our NWS forecasts rain in the wee hours Sunday morning. Rain may continue during daylight hours, but chances will generally decrease throughout the day.

The GFS forecasts light rain Easter morning until around 1pm. The European model keeps it around longer, through most of the afternoon.

Bottom Line

Saturday night and Sunday morning Easter Egg hunts are forecast to be rained out. Outdoor Easter morning sunrise services wil have to deal with close to a 1/2″ of rain already on the ground, and perhaps more falling. Plan to move services indoors.

I’ll put out another update tomorrow.
