The Drought Monitor Is Back

We call it the Wattery. It’s like the lottery, except with…rain. Been around Nashville long enough, and you know, rain chances verify with a little bit of luck this time of year. Those rain chances start very low today and gradually ramp up by mid-week, likely peaking Wednesday. We’ll give them shout-outs on socials when they get going each day. As usual, storms are most likely during the hot afternoon/early evening.

Thunderstorms are a good bet with any downpour that manages to pop up and break through the unfavorable atmosphere. Lightning appears to be the biggest threat. Although, gusty thunderstorm winds can bring down your local tree if nature is feeling extra spicy. This is not likely.

As for the dewpoints…the hairdo ruiner we have today and Monday will reach the low end of needing gills to breathe by mid-week. If it’s gonna do that, we’d better get some rain out of it…to be fair.

Believe it or not, after the wet spring and early summer…we’re getting a little dry again. The US Drought Monitor from Thursday verifies the lawn crisp in some areas of town.
