Gusts between 20-30 mph have been common today due to a tightening pressure gradient. These strong gusts will continue thru Tuesday afternoon before relaxing.
Our dry weather will come to a pause Tuesday evening when a line of showers approaches – and won’t be in any hurry to get out of here.
The latest HRRR model (below) shows the line putting on the brakes right near the TN River, holding off the arrival of the rain until overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Timing could be off!
No severe weather is expected, although don’t be shocked if you hear a rumble of thunder or two.
Some scattered showers are still possible on Thursday, but chances will be relatively low.
Uncertainty exists this weekend pertaining to rain chances.
GFS thinks solid rain chances return midday Friday, lasting thru Sunday morning.
Euro thinks Friday looks OK, with rain chances coming around Saturday afternoon, sticking around thru the rest of the weekend.
Which one is right? No clue. Maybe neither. A lot will depend on newly formed Tropical Storm Rafael and where it ends up going. We’ll keep you updated.
