Looking Forward to Some Rain & Cooler Temps

BNA has yet again reached 100° today, making it three straight days of 100° – the first time we’ve done that since July 2012.

The daily high temp for BNA is 101° today, and we may very well tie or break that.

Although tomorrow we probably won’t reach triple digits, it’ll still be hot with highs in the upper 90s. We’ll really start to feel a difference starting next week, with highs “only” in the upper 80s. Better than 100° I suppose.

Our recent dryness is reflected in the updated drought monitor, with both of our counties in Abnormally Dry, and even areas along and S of I-840 in a Moderate Drought.

Starting today and continuing into the Labor Day weekend, we will finally have some rain chances to help us out.

Scattered rain/non-severe storm chances will be around this afternoon/evening, probably not too many winners tho.

Rain chances will increase Friday, and even more so Saturday and Sunday. Not the best timing with it being Labor Day weekend, but we sure could use some rain.

  • scattered showers/storms most likely in the afternoon/evening
  • no severe weather expected, but heavy rain and lightning will be possible with any storm
  • if you have any outdoor plans, a rain plan and an eye on the radar will be a good idea

Over the next 7 days, we should finally get some appreciable rain – with around 1 – 1.5″ expected for us.
