Today is the first of potentially 3 consecutive days of reaching 100°. BNA has already gotten there today.
High temperatures are expected to get to 102° Wednesday and 101° Thursday.
If we do end up reaching at least 100° in these 3 consecutive days, it’ll be the longest such streak since 2012, when we reached 100° 4 days in a row from June 28 – July, and then 5 days in a row from July 4 – July 8.

Good news is that it’s a “dry heat” as dewpoints are only in the mid to upper 50s meaning the heat index value will basically be the same as the air temp.
Low rain chances (~10%) are back Thursday, but better chances (40 – 50%) will be around Friday – Sunday – just in time for Labor Day weekend.
- Scattered showers/thunderstorms possible, mostly in the afternoon + evening
- No severe weather expected
- Rainfall totals expected to be meager, and won’t help too much with our worsening drought
Temperatures finally return to average by the start of next week, and long-range models think we stay that way for the beginning of September.
