Showers and Thunderstorms This Afternoon

Current Temps and Radar

Today – Widespread Showers and Thunderstorms – H: 86°

The muggy conditions and chance of rain will make you want to run away on this hump day.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely around and after lunch thanks to rain and thunderstorms moving northeast into Middle Tennessee from Arkansas and Mississippi.

Here’s the HRRR simulated radar for the rest of today:

The Storm Prediction Center has included us in a marginal risk for severe weather, but the probability of any storms within 25 miles of us producing hail and damaging winds is only 5%.

The main concern will be the slow motion of showers and storms moving through Nashville, which could produce localized heavy flooding.

The low tonight will be 66° with mostly cloudy skies and lingering showers dying off from the lack of daytime heat.

Thursday – Scattered Clouds and Pop-up showers in the afternoon H: 87° L: 67°

Expect a break in the clouds around lunch time, with rain possible after 1 PM. There is a 40% chance of rain in the afternoon into the evening hours. Dew points will be in the upper 60s with calm southerly winds, so, yeah: humid!

NAM THUR 7 PM

Friday (The best day ever) – Showers likely in the afternoon – H: 86°

By lunchtime, showers will begin to pop up around – but not necessarily in – Nashville as rain moves to the east. The bulk of the rain will move in the afternoon and will linger into the overnight hours. Perfect sleeping weather! Dew points will remain in the upper 60s.

Extended: Weekend forecast looks wet with a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday…
