In 1871, Nashville started to keep weather records. The following records were broken for that day only. All numbers come from our NWS and the weather station at the airport.

We set 11 daily records in 2013:

1.76″ record rain (January 13)

73 record high (January 30) — set in the early morning hours.

3.30″ record rain (Aprili 27)

39 record low (May 13)

50 record low (June 12)

71 record minimum high temp (July 4)

76 record minimum high temp (July 6)

1.18″ record rain (July 6)

75 record high, 62 warmest low temperature record, 69 average high temperature record (December 21)

No all time or monthly records were set this year.

Honorable Mentions

7.63″ of rain fell in April, making it the 9th wettest April on record.

7.98″ of rain fell in December, making it the 9th wettest December on record.

January 30, 2013: A strong early morning cold front produced 22 tornadoes across Middle Tennessee, the strongest of which was an EF-2 that struck Mt. Juliet.
