Spring-Like Temperatures Prevail, Wet Pattern Ahead

Very nice weather ahead for this weekend – especially considering it is late February.

Highs in the mid 60s today and Sunday, we are treated with low 70s on Saturday. Mornings will still be fairly cool. No rain expected.

These lovely temperatures will continue well into next week, with long-range models suggesting mid to upper 70s by late next week.

Low rain chances return Monday morning, but these look meh as of right now. Looks like majority of the precipitation will stay to our north.

We’ll be watching later next week as our pattern shifts, allowing for more rain chances.

The Climate Prediction Center has outlooked our area with a 40-60% chance of heavy precipitation from March 6 – 10. There is no exact definition of “heavy precipitation” – I think it’s left fairly vague for a reason, with it being too far out to try and pinpoint any specific details.

It’s also too early and try and tell if we could be dealing with any thunderstorms during this time, or any severe weather potential. For now, it’s just a decent bet that we’ll be dealing with some rain chances during this time.

The 8 -14 day outlook sums it up well – with both temperatures and precipitation expected to be above average.
