Fairly nice and mild thru the afternoon today – the sun will occasionally be able to peek thru the clouds.
Our rain chances return later today. The overall timing of the system has moved up a bit, with rain expected to move in around sunset this evening but moving out sometime Thursday morning.
There is a bit of uncertainty regarding the rainfall amounts. The past couple runs of the HRRR model has introduced the possibility of a narrow swath of 2-3″ of rain. Although this wouldn’t cause widespread flooding issues, it could certainly cause some rises on creeks/streams, along with ponding on some roads. Outside of this swath, totals in the 0.5 – 1″ range will be more likely.
Where this swath of heavier rain happens, if at all, is something that remains to be seen. We’ll be watching model trends throughout the day, along with observations.
HRRR model gives a guess:

After the rain moves out, we’ll be left with great weather for the weekend – warm and dry. High temps remain above average, especially on Saturday. Low rain chances return sometime early next week.
