Preview of Spring Today and Tuesday; Several Rain Chances This Week

Today and Tuesday we’ll get a nice preview of Spring. High temperatures will be ~20° above average. Both days will be fantastic for any outdoor activities.

This preview will be fairly short-lived, as we return back to reality the rest of the week. However, we’ll still have slightly above average temperatures with highs in the mid 50s.

After our little dry stretch of weather, we’ll have several rain chances this week and into this weekend.

First up, some showers will be possible Tuesday night, lingering into the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Just rain, no hazardous weather. Things should be drying out by the Wednesday AM commute.

We likely see a break from the rain Wednesday thru Friday evening.

Wet conditions will return late week, especially Friday night through Sunday morning. There remains a lot of model inconsistency with strength, track, and timing of the features and resultant rainfall amounts. The weekend could be a big soaker, but some models show a more intermittent, lighter rainfall pattern. Overall, we continue to think rainfall will not cause any big hydro issues.” – NWS Nashville AFD

Biggest takeaways from that paragraph from our friends at NWS Nashville:

  • On/off rain chances will be around Friday night thru Sunday morning
  • Still a lot of uncertainty with the models regarding, timing, amounts, track, etc.
  • As of right now, no concerns for any flooding or severe weather

Lots more data will come in throughout the week, and we can start narrowing down some timing. We’ll keep y’all posted on all the updates, but for now, keep an eye on the forecast – especially if you have any outdoor plans this weekend.
